Before Lavender Campers was even a name, it was a daydream—often imagined on long walks, shared over slow morning coffees, and sparked by weekends away in borrowed vans. The idea of life on the road, of waking up to new views, of enjoying the little moments and stepping away from the rush—that’s what pulled us in.

Van life has always held a kind of magic for us. There’s something so peaceful about being able to carry your home with you, something freeing in the simplicity of it all. It’s not just about travel; it’s about creating space for connection, nature, and inspiration. That love for adventure, for design, and for slowing down became the seed of what is now Lavender Campers.

When we decided to turn this dream into something real, we knew it wouldn’t be easy—but we also knew it would be worth it.

The early days were a whirlwind of learning. We dove headfirst into research, spending hours watching van tours, reading blogs, comparing materials, and mapping out floorplans on napkins and scrap paper. Neither of us had ever run a business before, but we brought our shared curiosity and creativity into every decision. From choosing sustainable materials, to testing layouts, to figuring out how to build something not just functional, but beautiful and personal—we’ve poured our hearts into this.

There have definitely been challenges. Some days it felt like we were just figuring things out as we went (and, honestly, a lot of days still do). There were unexpected delays, tough decisions, and the classic DIY moments where everything seems to go wrong right before it finally comes together. But through it all, we’ve kept going—fueled by the belief that what we’re creating is something special.

One of the most inspiring parts has been the people we’ve met along the way—fellow van lovers, kind strangers, and creatives doing what they love. Hearing their stories, sharing ideas, and feeling part of a community that values freedom, exploration, and a slower pace of life has been such a beautiful reminder of why we started this in the first place.

Right now, we’re in that exciting in-between stage—our first builds are coming together, and we’re getting closer to sharing them with the world. For us, this is about doing it right, staying true to our vision, and making sure that every camper we create feels like a little home full of warmth, adventure, and care.

Looking ahead, there’s so much to be excited about. From final touches and new designs, to meeting our first customers and seeing these vans go out into the world—we can’t wait for what’s next.
